Road Traffic Offence |

Hello all
A couple of days ago PC James Hockless and I intercepted a car in Brookland that had been involved in an incident near Maidstone. This was a case of ‘blues with no twos’ as opposed to a genuine emergency vehicle with blue lights and two, sometimes three tone sirens! If cars could show embarrassment when the Police Ranger which has properly fitted blue lights and sirens with trained police drivers pulled it over, the paint would have changed from white to bright red! All joking aside this is an extremely serious matter having anything other than white lights (apart from indicators) showing at the front of a vehicle especially when they are blue which gives the impression that it is an emergency vehicle even if a convertible Mercedes doesn't fit the bill as your ordinary emergency vehicle, the use of it's blue lights would be a distraction to any other road users at the very least. The driver was reported for the relevant offences and issued with a Section 59 warning (Police Reform Act 2002) and the blue light device seized.
Thank you Steve. | ||
